Dr. Brunstrom-Hernandez has completed extensive education and clinical training as well as specialized training in her areas of expertise. She is board-certified in Pediatric Neurology and is a member of the Child Neurology Society and the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine. She frequently attends conferences and society meetings to learn about the latest advancements in the field and offer these techniques and technologies to her patients. Having cerebral palsy herself, Dr. Brunstrom-Hernandez is uniquely able to understand and empathize with her patients.
The Importance of Patient Education
A key part of your child's success in living their best life, is understanding and learning as much as possible about your child's motor difficulties and other challenges and how to prevent CP-related complications (such as contractures, deformities, fractures) and optimize mobility, ability and health. We strongly believe that patient education is an important part of the services we provide. In addition to talking with our patients and their families during their office visit, we provide specific recommendations and patient education materials. We encourage our patients and their parents to learn about their cerebral palsy and CP-associated conditions and ask us questions about how to stay active and healthy.
